Punjab cities to witness complete facelift -Local Bodies Minister

JALANDHAR 18 FEBRUARY 
Local bodies minister of Punjab Mr. Balkar Singh today said that the Punjab Government headed by chief minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann would ensure a complete facelift of the cities in the coming months as a comprehensive plan is being prepared under which facilities like drinking water, concrete streets, lights, sewerage, and parks would be provided to all citizen.
Today along with Member Parliament Sushil Kumar Rinku and MLA Sheetal Anugral, the cabinet minister started the development works worth Rs. 3.75 crore including the construction of two roads, renovation of Dr. B R Ambedkar Park in the new Green Model town area, installation of tubewell etc.
The minister informed that inter-city roads to be renovated and strengthened as the department has already finalized the tender process. Terming the development and welfare of people as the priority sector for the Punjab Government,

Mr. Singh said that 600 Aam Aadmi clinics, schools of eminence, 1076 helplines for citizens-centric services, Ghar Ghar Ration scheme have provided great relief to the masses, especially in the service sector.
The Minister said that following the path shown by Dr Ambedkar, the Punjab government is working for the development of all sections of society. He also laid the foundation stones for the renovation and strengthening of two roads having lengths of approximately 2 KM with Rs. 81 lahks and 73 lakh respectively. Besides that, a tubewell with Rs. 24.32 lakh will also be installed in the new green park which will provide drinking water to the new green park, Bootan, Partap Nagar, and Punjabi Bagh area.
The minister also listened to the grievances of people there and issued necessary instructions to the officials to redress the grievances.
The minister also asked the Municipal corporation officials to monitor the development of personnel works to ensure the timely completion and quality of work.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion also included chairperson Rajwinder Kaur Thiara,,  MC commissioner Gautam Jain, and additional commissioner Amarjeet Singh.
