Travel agent booked for cheating villager
SHAHKOT 17 FEBRUARY 

 The Shahkot police have booked a travel agent on the charges of cheating a
person of Rs. 6.90 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and investigating officer Narinder Singh Aujla said that the accused has been identified as Kuldeep Singh son of Surinder Singh a resident of Naseer Pur village in Kapurthala and presently living in France.
Gurdeep Singh a resident of Talwandi Madho village in Shahkot complained to
Jalandhar(rural) SSP that he paid Rs. 6.90 lakhs to the accused for
facilitating his migration from Behrain to Sweden and then to Italy but he was neither sent anywhere nor returned the money.
DSP said that a case under section 406(criminal breach of rust) and 420(cheating) of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
