SGPC Polls- administration starts 15 days special drive
JALANDHAR 10 JANUARY
: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Wednesday said that the district administration has started 15 15-day special drive for registration of voters for SGPC polls.
Under that drive, special camps would be organized in all Gurdwaras of the district on January 14 and 17 for the enrolment of the voters in maximum numbers for SGPC elections.
Chairing a meeting with the officials and representatives of Sikh organizations in the district administrative complex, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Maghi festival and Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji fall on January 14 and 17 respectively and devotees pay obeisance in huge numbers in all Gurdwaras on these days.
He said that patwaris would remain present in all Gurdwaras and collect the voter registration forms.
He said that the patwaris would take enrolment forms individually from each person and asked them not to collect bulk forms. He said that forms would be made available to the people and can also be downloaded from Jalandhar.nic.in.
