Villager arrested for stealing cash, and jewellery.

SHAHKOT 22 JULY

 The Shahkot police have booked unidentified thieves s on the charge of stealing cash and jewellery from a house.

Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Paramjit Singh alias Pamma son of Dhanpat Rai a resident of Nagal Ambian village

Mohann Lal a resident of Dhando Wal village complained to the police that thieves barged into his house on 14 July and stole Rs 1 Lakh 15,000  and   golden jewellery

IO said that a case under sections 457 (lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and his three unidentified accomplices accused.

Increasing incidents of thefts in rural areas have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police patrolling.
